FAQs

How do we book your services?

Let me know what services you think that you will need, and I will prepare a contract. I require a 50% retainer fee along with a signed contract to reserve a date. I accept cash, personal checks and credit cards. If your date is more than six months out, we can set up an automatic payment plan as well.

Can we meet in person?

I prefer live meetings. It is a lot easier to get to know how our personalities mix. If you are from the Traverse City area, meeting is easy. Just let me know when you are available. If you are from Southwest Florida, meeting is still possible, as I am there quite often. If you are from out of town, though, there is always Skype.

What packages do you offer?

Every client has different needs, so I do not have a list to post. I customize a package for every situation. Please contact me with your specific requirements, and I can get you a quote to work from. I can also provide you with “options” in the contract. For instance, if you are unsure that you want an album, I can provide that as an option that will be good for up to 30 days after the date of service. That way you will have an idea what to budget for.

Are all of our photos retouched before we receive them?

After any photography session, I take great care to sort through all of the photos that I have taken. Your photos will go through an editing process to ensure they look their best. This means they are color corrected and cropped. Minor touch-ups made during this process; however, should you require major touch-ups, I can provide you with an estimate.

How and when will I receive my images?

You will receive your high files on a USB drive as well as an online gallery in about 2-4 weeks. Here you can see and share your images, as well as order prints. You can place orders online or through me, but you will have access to make your own prints as well. Please keep in mind that your prints are only as good as the lab you choose.

Do you need an assistant photographer?

I have shot hundreds of weddings on my own, so am very comfortable without an assistant. You might consider hiring my assistant for reasons such as the two of you are getting ready at different sites, you have a large guest list (150+) and don’t want to miss anyone, you are planning a first look and want to get all of the expressions and emotions, or you want someone to take photos at the cocktail hour while you are having your formal photos taken. As a general rule, if you have more photographers, you will have more photos.

Do you travel?

I am currently based out of Northern Michigan, but also work out of Southwest Florida, where I lived for many years. I typically don’t charge travel fees for weddings within 100 miles of Traverse City, MI, or Fort Myers, FL. I do travel, and so other locations may include travel expenses. We can discuss that together.

I’ve been spending a lot of time on Pintrest and have a list. Can I give this to you?

Pintrest is a lot of fun, and provides a lot of great ideas. However, as an artist, I have worked for many years to create my own unique style. Clients hire me for my style, and not my ability to duplicate another’s. I want to be able to make your session as unique as you are, so I do not work from lists. However, I am happy to share ideas with you and hear what you would like to see out of your shoot.
